Dear Patti.

It’s taken me a long time to write this, not because I didn’t know what to say, but because I didn’t know where to begin.

Our second daughter, Juliana Rose, was born on January 9th; 3 years and 4 days after Melanie. Juliana has a quiet and pleasant disposition. she looks just like me when I was her age. It’s unnnerving. Her beautiful big sister is a tightly wound firecracker, full of fun, often demanding, quite crazy. Robyn’s son, Brett, made his arrival shortly after Juliana. Too early to say if he’s going to be a chop off the old block just yet.

Our family went to North Wildwood for a week in August. I rode my new bike the length of the boardwalk every morning and into Wildwood Crest. The stretch of beach by the fishing pier was normally empty at that time of the morning, not like the occasion of your surprise party on the beach the previous summer.

U2 have been in a London studio recently, but The Edge claimed that they were just messing around having fun and that a new album is a long way off.

Remember when I told you before your surgery that I love you, well, it’s still true and I’m thinking of you and Isabella.

Love Ron, Donna, Melanie, & Juliana

Here’s an email Patti sent me on 9/22/2005. She’s the BEST! I’m blessed to of had her in my life. I miss all of you. —–email—–
Chuckie,
gt;How many USAir dividend miles do you have? Are you making sure to get credit for your trips?
If you give me your number I can make sure.
I have enough miles for a free Carribean flight - you need 25000 for travel up to 11/14/2005 or 30,000 for travel up to april 2006.

I bet between the two of us we could fly to St Thomas for free….Let’s go.
Oops! Didn’t mean to put you on the spot about making plans, but you know if you want to go anywhere in life (not just travel) it’s best to have a plan. Something else to work on.
I know you will be able to do it once you get yourself separated from the negativism in your life.

Remember, you’re the best and don’t let anyone tell you differently. Have them call me if they want to discuss…NOT!

Love ya,
Patti

Hi from Scotland
This is how I always started my letters or e-mail to Patti.
Patti and I started writing to each other when we were about 11 or 12 years old. It all started through a pal of mine by writting to a tv program for a penpal the only thing was that my pal gave up on the penpal idea and asked me would I like to carry on writting to Patti and I said yes. How wrong was my pal on giving up on this friendship.
Patti was a good friend I would say a true friend. It is true what you all have been saying about Patti she was a strong person she loved life she was fool of life always planing ahead, if you felt down she would make you laugh about something and it would perk you up again. She always used to say to me make time for each other life is to short, how write she was. Patti and I met up in Edinburgh, I think we were 21 years old along with Patti was her cousin Laurie with me was my boyfriend David now my husband. It took me a long time to convince David to go to America infact 20 years but we made it in 2004. You have no idea how glad I did, meeting up with Patti was
great meeting Laurie again and all Patti,s family and friends and of course Isabella Patti,s double she is so like her. Strong and I think will make most of life just like her mum.

Patti I miss you lots miss your e-mails phone calls. Always in my thoughts everyday.

dear Patti
I just wanted to ask you to look out for my sister Cindy, she died on wednesday night, and I was with her, I told her to look for you, and I told her you both could be at the beach and laugh, the beach was her favorite place too.she was only 43, so you were just about the same age. I hope you see her and take her under your wing like you did to everyone, you looked out for everyone, I hope you see her, and tell her I love her, and remember ,I love you too, Lisa

Hey Patti,
Forgot to mention to everyone that about a month ago, I was at work, in the copy room of all places and got the strongest scent of lavendar. I went out of the room and asked all of the girls if they had flowers. Everyone looked at me as if I were nuts. I smelled them, I know it was you. Thank you for giving me a part of your spirit. I really needed it. I know your still around, I just miss you so much with your house sitting empty, it was always so alive when you were here. I am trying to go and visit Chuck, he is having a hard time but he knows you are watching over him too. I miss you and not a day goes by that I don’t think of you.
Love Always,
Tara
P.S. Hi Tony and Gina!!

Dear Patti,
It was 3 months ago today that you passed and it is still so difficult not having you here. So many times I have picked up the phone to call you or wanted to go visit you. I miss you so much and it hurts really bad. I don’t think it’s ever going to get any easier. I know it’s selfish still wanting you to be alive because you were in so much pain and suffered so greatly but I wish I could see you now, even if it was only for a few minutes. I do feel your presence in my life every now and then. I see 11’s all the time on the clock! And I’ve had a few dreams you’ve been in. I believe that you’re alright now and watching over us all. I can’t wait for the day when I will be able to see you again.
I also wanted to tell you that we’re taking care of Isabella and you did a really good job protecting her interests. Every time I see Isabella she amazes me and I of how proud you would be of her. She is so much like you it’s almost scary sometimes. She is so determined and smart. I know you are the best guardian angel any child could have! Isabella really misses you, as we all do. She loves looking at your pictures and talking about you. She definitely helps us to focus on the good memories we have of you.
Patti, I love you and miss you so much.
Love, Your little sister Gina

Dear Patty, I’ve been thinking about you alot, the thing thats stuck in my head most was our last conversation, I held your hand and I was crying alittle, trying to be strong and not show you tears, but you looked at me and smiled, and told me to get married, you were so happy we FINALLY set the date! You told me to be good to Jeff and be good to myself, I told you I loved you and that you loved me too, you squeezed my hand and smiled, I gave you a kiss on your head, you asked me to remember you, I will never forget you Patty. I went over your mom’s house last night and I saw Isabella, she looked great! she played with joeyfor over an hour, and I talked with alberta, and laughed alittle, she pulled out A BUNCH of pictures of you, and it was nice to see you smiling and loving life like you did. I kissed up Isabells alot!! and told her we will go to Chuck E Cheese next time she’s here, she was sooo happy. I was happy seeing you in her eyes. I love and miss you VERY MUCH!!!!! see ya girl. Lisa
